Dear Larry,
On behalf of our staff, our veterans, and the causes of peace and healing
that we all serve, we are honored to extend this invitation to you serve
on the Soldier's Heart Board of Advisors. You have been nominated
to assist us in developing this Advisory Board due to your expertise, commitment
to and experience with veterans and/or transformational programming.
Some of our Board members will be veterans or professionals experienced in
working with them. Others will be seasoned professionals from various
disciplines who have significant expertise in developing programs that contribute
to needing healing and change.
Soldier's Heart is a veterans return and healing project addressing the emotional
and spiritual needs of veterans, their families and communities. Soldier's
Heart promotes and guides efforts to heal the effects of war based on strategies
presented in "War and the Soul" by Edward Tick, PhD. Currently, Soldier's
Heart is developing a three-pronged foundation to facilitate such efforts.
Our efforts, already in operation, include:
We appreciate how busy your schedule already is and your agreement to join
the committee will not overburden your schedule. We intend to have
occasional phone conferences individually or with groups of board members
and would like to call upon you as needed for counsel on issues in your area
of expertise. We hope and trust you will be able to provide us with
necessary support and guidance for the development of this significant vision
and institution that can help bring true healing to our veterans and country
and address the full range of war's effects.
We would greatly appreciate your consideration to join this initiative and
look forward to your response. We thank you for entertaining the invitation
and for your work on behalf of veterans and our world.
Sincerely,
Ed Tick, Ph.D.
